The weather was perfect for Cottage Day 2010! Thirty people attended this year including several teenagers for a change. Eric serenaded us for the third year in a row. Twelve individuals were brave enough to swim across Lake Chemong in two separate swims (Dianne made two crossings!). Others sailed, pedal kayaked, canoed, tubed and some even attempted water skiing.
One purple towel and a glass bowl were left behind and we are missing a red life jacket. Please contact Sara (it is possible to contact her through this website) if you have the red life jacket or are missing the towel or bowl.
It was a very fun afternoon of good food and good friends!
Photos to follow.

We have survived the big one! Worlds 2010 Sweden
It is worth the experience - we have all gained insights and new experiences. The warm-ups were so crowded that maybe under a hot shower one would have gotten a better warm-up. But that was still nothing compared to the warm-up for the relays - since men and women would swim together in the same pool.
The marshalling was done very efficiently - your name was checked at least three times. It is really cool when your name gets called and your country announced. The butterflies that make any meet exciting are multiplied by thousands at that Worlds.
The weather was not that great and those swimming in the outdoor pool had to take extra care to stay warm. The stroke and turn judges were very detail-oriented and there were many dqs. If you swam and did not meet the qualifying time - behind your name would appear 'NT' instead of the time (lots of swimmers had NT behind their names, but not too many Canadians!).
We have met many people - made new friends, enjoyed dinners around the town in good company and many have already promised to be back 2012 in Italy Riccione June 2-16 - will you join us too?
In all it was a super meet - the organizers did an amazing job, the city and its people were very hospitable and the Canadian jackets were a big hit as usual. Many people, even non-swimmers, took pictures of Canadian groups walking around town. The four of us are all happy that we took part in these championships and we will soon start to think about training for Italy.
For more picutres check the second Article "Canadians in Gotheburg".
Hoping that you are all well - Ralph, Taina, Hideo and Martina
