I hope everyone is doing well. We are quickly approaching our championship season. As we go forward we will keep our focus on specialties and strokes. Remember to change intensities during sets. At the end of the day is the intensity that you bring to each part of the set that matters, not the distance.
Learn to control your speed and you will improve your racing.
Finally, to everyone racing this week, remember that we are still deep in training. It will be a good experience to race a bit before the championship meets. Regardless of the final time on each race, the best indicator of performance will be the way we split races. On the 100s and 200s if we keep the difference between each half below 4s would be great. (below 2 for the 100s is ideal). For the 400s and up an even split throughout the race would be great. Finally, I would like to know who wants to do a relay, they will be based off of best times and a best chance to rank high in a given age group. So send me your name and your best 50 time, if you haven’t done a 50 then just send a 100 best time.
